I'm semi off line for a while. I'm having some minor issues with my left arm, so my postings will be fairly brief. Just to let you know that I'm not ignoring you, I'm just not answering you.
But man, some heavy, heady questions... Not to mention soooo many new spirits around me. I'll be writing more tonight, just cuz.. I don't like getting behind, so owies be damned.

Be sure to alternate heat and ice for 15 minutes and that will help ease the irritation.
Yeah. I'm trained as a physical therapy tech... :)
Don't overdue the exercises. Maybe try one every hour and take 30 min to an hour to rest and start out at only 10 reps and work your way up.
