I got to see Piper Laurie, who will always be one of my favorite actresses, in an episode of Dead Like Me, said episodes are available on either IMDB.com or Hulu. Still, it was a yay, as she has always had one of those sweet faces that just melts my heart.

I also got to see 2 episodes of the original Twilight Zone. One with Art Carney playing Santa Claus, and another with Ed Gwynn, doing a Pitch for the Angels.

Also looks like my next weekend, the weekend that PB&G were going to Whitehart, has been filled by the family in Eureka Springs needing automobile assistance. Yeah, I won't go into it, cept to say it kinda frustrates me.

Aaannnd. I'm kinda broke, too. but that's not a big deal. I've been there before. It'll grow back.

Aw well... It's kind of a bummer feeling today. There were so many things I had kinda sorta hoped for that got labeled with "not this time, chum" by the Universe. I don't mind these sort of messages, because it gives me pause and time to think about priorities and my relationship to everything and everybody else.

Tomorrow is the 4th. Have a wonderful and very safe holiday, kids. I'll see you when I do.

Oh Pooh! While I understand your circumstances completely (was just there myself with Muskogee) I can speak for all of us when I say that you will be very much missed!

Well.... perhaps something can be worked out. We're, the three of us, not only looking at having spent quite a bit on our week long Texas trip, but this family thing just sort of broadsided me, since they were supposed to have already taken care of their situation. I'm apparently the only one who can keep the world turning and the universe expanding.

Say... Julie, where are most folks staying out there? We did have this very cool place set up, but poverty sort got in the way. I know there are some places out there for a fairly reasonable price.

We are doing better. It's a day-by-day thing, ya know? As for a place to stay....While there are some very reasonable places in town - Susi found a cute cottage style motel for about $40 per night. However, being the fantabulous people the trio of you are....I checked with Chuck and Cat (they have the biggest house *grin*) and they have room for you guys to stay with them. Theres couches, possibly a bed or 2, and lots of room for air mattresses. That way you wouldn't have to be out of pocket for boarding. And you can take my word for it....Cat and Chuck would love to have you all stay with them.
I would offer our place, but with the chaos that is our tiny duplex right now there is barely room to move!
So either this weekend or next you all would be more than welcome!!! However keep in mind that next Saturdy QG, the Sea Dogges (not including Cat) and myself will be in KC for Heather and Jordan's wedding. But we will be comming back that evening for faire on Sunday.
Let me know what you all decide!

Love You Bunches!!!

You know.... I don't think we even considered the network of folks around that area. How far is it from there to WH? Not that it matters. What isn't spent on room can easily be used for gas.

About 45 minutes...it usually takes just over a quarter of a tank....ish. Depending upon gas mileage.

One more thing...heading to bed now. If y'all decide to come out this weekend, feel free to just show up and know you have a place to stay!

Aren't you the sweetest! Sleep well. Won't be the 4th, cuz Sherry's having a weekend cook out at the old house, but I can fairly well say that we'll be there on the 10th or 11th, depending. I'll see if we can't convince ourselves to stay till Sunday, just so we can see you folk. I know I want to!

sigh... maybe we can still work out something for next weekend.

Yaaaaay Dead Like Me!

I feel it's the weakest out of Brian Fuller's catalog, but I still liked it.

I really liked the story concept and even most of the characters. I never could work up to liking Mason and Daisy was just kind of annoying. Granted, some of the lines were a bit... lame. What I really liked occurred only in late in the game, and too late to really save the story. The emergence of the Gravelings. There wasn't really any conflict in the first season, except for George's angst, and if I want teenage angst, I can go to any number of other channels or just listen to gossip at work.

It's a pity the genuine bad guy didn't occur until to late to save the show.

Ah poo! I was SO hoping that you guys could come or even that you could come by yourself, if need be.

If it's just you and you wanna stay close, you can bring your sleeping bag and bunk in the Dairy Room where Bruce and I and Becky and Riley stay, if you want. Granted, we end up getting up at about 6am to get things ready but still, you're welcome.

Hmmm, we won't be there on Saturday so there won't be anybody staying in there until late Saturday night. But you wouldn't know where to go...but if you wanna stay there anyway, we can figure it out.

Chuck and Cat's, as Julie said, is about 45 minutes away but they're just awesome folk.

Not to worry, Sis. We will be arriving in the area until later saturday afternoon. I'll be in ES until then, and Sherry and Tim will be leaving after he's taken care of his family obligations. It's quite likely that we'll be bunking at Cat and Chuck's, and we will be there on Sunday, regardless.

Now, wouldn't it just be neat if we could all get together for a late dinner on Saturday once you get into town, wherever that town may be? I imagine, however, that you would be very tired and probably looking to crash land.

Yeah, since the wedding is a 5pm and the reception is after that, we probably won't be leaving for Marshfield until 8 or 9pm, getting us there well after midnight after which, I'm certain all we'll be good for is a crashing land to sleep as long as we can.
