My wrist hurts. Not a lot, but it's become a pain to write, so I'm not... much. I have some good ideas for the BP&G I'm working on, and if I could get my right hand to co-operate, they'd be written.

Darlin Capi provided some neat little Iso gloves, and even they don't help. Might just be Arthur Writus popping in for a visit. Might be the tons of typing I do at work. Might be stuff I have no idea bout, and it might be all or any of the above.

Regardless, I will be writing again... I just need to figure this one out.

You know... there's a bunch of folks out there that have a bunch of underlying stuff going wonky in their lives. I'm feel for you, and it makes my lil hand thing here pretty darn small, at least to me. I've got a solid place in my heart and head for all you, specifically Becky, who I quietly love, Amber, my favorite niece, Capi, my darlin sis, Susi, my favorite queen and sis, and all of those of us that I know need a bit of support and extra loving energy. For that Extra, Extra, Extra long sensation.
And for you, Kevin, I have a very special sort of place. You and me are interdimensionals, chum. You, I think, just let it get to you.

You know... if you guys are down here this weekend for Conestoga, and if you can place your worry motor off to the side for a bit, I bet we can share a few laughs, even if we never leave the hotel.

When you have Sherry, Tim and me together, tain't a whole lot we can't accomplish. Heck, maybe even a little bit of magic, just for you.

This is true. And I am very much looking forward to seeing everyone.

And you might want to take a look at the gloves that I use for computer work and some of my playing. I got Susi to try one when her wrist started being unhappy about the heavier drum, and it seems to be helping her a lot. Remind me this weekend to show them to you while I am down there.

Capi sent me a pair of Futuro gloves that have helped in the past. They look like this one: http://www.futuro-usa.com/product_detail.aspx?id=14

Since they aren't doing much right now, I'm thinking it's just Arthur or I'm really overdoing it. Since I'm typing less than when I write my little stories, I'm going to say it's the weather and a touch of Arthritis. It'll fix once the weather dries up a bit.

And yes, let's compare gloves! I think that would be fun.... course, I really need to wash mine.

The Futuros are what I am using - flexible, with a wrap-around strap that provides extra support at the wrists. Yes, they need to washed periodically (hmmm, mine, too...).

You need to wear them for *all* computer work, as well as use wrist supports for both keyboard and mouse activity. And I wear mine for playing, both hands (fingering and bowing). If you use a computer at work, make sure that your arm positions allow your wrists to be flat.

I'll show you what I mean this weekend. What you are describing is something that can be Arthur or could easily be the nudges of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The good news is that it's at least somewhat preventable, or can be held in check.

It might be Carpal... I've had the twinges of it before. When I feel the beginnings of it, then I start to exercise the wrist in non-repetitive ways and vary my typing styles. I also keep an eye on how hard I hit the keys, specially the space bar which is the thumb. That's the digit that seems to take the brunt of my abuse.
It's a bit better this morning, which means I'm on the right tack. Looking forward to seeing you!

Contented is good! Hold onto that as long as you can, Sis. The feeling will carry you through frustration.

Love you too! Give Nikki a hug for me.

*nods* Venting helped and getting stuff done with helpers who are both qualified and good company helps a lot too.

Other stuff can and will be worked through; I'm determined.

Awww... getting old is fun! It's these lil things, like pain, that gets in the way. As for the pain, it's caused because I tend to type all. day. long. At work, I document every call I get to the nth degree. At home, I'm replying to or writing emails or writing my lil stories.

In reality, I'm very fortunate to have the health that I do, and recognize that fortune. I do have a bit of arthritis and I can't sleep on crappy mattresses any more, apparently, but those are minor compared with the pain that some suffer. I only whine when I think it gets in the way of me communicating... at least, I think thats the only time I whine... there may be more and your milage may vary.

Three days wearing the wrist brace and I'm pretty much back to normal. Means that tonight, I get to write the next chapter in whatever book hits my brain.

Thanks for the hug! Here's one back )))))HUG(((((
