The Futuros are what I am using - flexible, with a wrap-around strap that provides extra support at the wrists. Yes, they need to washed periodically (hmmm, mine, too...).
You need to wear them for *all* computer work, as well as use wrist supports for both keyboard and mouse activity. And I wear mine for playing, both hands (fingering and bowing). If you use a computer at work, make sure that your arm positions allow your wrists to be flat.
I'll show you what I mean this weekend. What you are describing is something that can be Arthur or could easily be the nudges of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The good news is that it's at least somewhat preventable, or can be held in check.
