There's a lil thing on the web called Frapper. Not really sure where the name comes from, but it allows you to map where you are, see, so you could send that location to chums that might want to see where the heck you live.

F'instance.. this would be me Where I live.

Just in case there are any stalkers out there, keep in mind that I'm 8 feet tall, and carry a large sheep for bludgoning. Just bludgeoning! That's all!

Anyway, because I have a penchant for looking up where folks live, if you get a hankerin, take a look at it. Join it if you wish to. Don't if you don't wish to. I don't think there are any spybots that inhabit it, but I dunno. As always, be a smart shopper.

Huh. And I just learned through another friend that the center of the world according to Google maps is Coffeyville, KS.

Wierd. I tried it and it's true...keep scrolling in and you end up right in the Coffeyville Country Club parking lot.

And here I thought Lawrence, KS was the center of the world!

That's cuz the default for the center of the map for this particular maping system, when it's pointing to the US is the Coffeyville Country Club parking lot. Everybody knows the center of the world is far hotter than Kansas. I think.

Hmm.. somebody just beemed a thought at me.. 1:58 pm CST... OK, Who was it??

Well, I was looking at the map just then...I donno if it was me or not!

I've been told sometimes that I think more loudly then I'm aware of (and that I end sentenced in prepositiong, too!)

They also have our street wrong. It's not a line that ends; it's a loop that goes right back around to 121st.

That's ok - Mapquest can't find us at all!

Silly thing is that the map doesn't really list my street at all. I live on an access road for the aparment that runs parallel to 31st. When I originally mapped myself, it put me in the middle of a pond about a mile away. Fortunately, it does allow you to move the marker to where you think it should be. Now.. Google is a very good mapping system, and I think that's the one it's using.

Heck, I don't know any map that is 100 percent accurate.

M'Queen, as it should be, but not necessarily correct, you are mapped at the very center of the earth.. zero longitude, zero lattitude...

Ahhhhh. That explains it.. See.. my left ear just every so briefly blocked out some external sound, like it was listening to something. I know my ego is so large that it can hear my name at a crowded party from 300 yards away, and I always wondered if that was what was happening. Now.. if I can just verify it three more times...

Thanks Honey!! BTW.. I'm just bout to figure out what the next story of Pockets will be. Sam helped, and so did you! Pockets in the Big City. Remember Hopfrog? It will be something like that, but not exactly.

And where is Griz's story, dear one? You know I'm just champing at the bit to read even the first chapter!

No disagreement there, Capitani. Griz works on Griz time. I just don't want Sherry to put it off till it settles in the dust and she starts to think her story is just not up to snuff. I've got a few stories like that myself, and selfdoubt will cause stories NEVER to be told, which is just a terrible thing.

ummmm...Griz's story is still inside my head rolling around. And you are right in what you told Capi, I am having some fear of failure issues.. But I will start it as soon as I can spend some more time at the puter.. After my weekend celebrations! It's still percolating though!

I can't wait to read the Pockets in the big city story! So we are even! ;-)

I know I'm right! I was there myself till some loved one or other said one Christmas "All I want from you is a new story". I think we both know who that was. Nothing to it but do dive in and do it. And we're not even, cuz you got you're story.. so...Sherry? Tell me a story? Please?

It looks like Canberra. All nicely designed streets and little residential 'cell' type neighbourhoods. The only place in Aust that organised is Canberra. All the others are more chaotic.

Yeah, the founding fathers here did it all on mostly compass points. When you get uptown, however, the streets run NW - SE, just to confuse us.

LOL... You should check out the map for Canberra, Australia, which is the Nations capital, and then check out the CBD area for Sydney, Australia, our first settlement..... Melbourne was the second. Very very different cities.

Tourists who come say Sydney is more .... american in a way, brighter, busier, more extremes. Melbourne by contrast is totally a european city in taste and culture.

Cool, I chose the right spot on the Frapper. I moved the marker to where I thought was my house on the map. Just now looked at the sattelite view. I hit my back yard. I can even see my swimming pool!
