From "Crossed Genres" - an online publishing company I submitted Bags and Pockets to a while back:

First, please let me apologize for taking so long to get back to you. Crossed Genres grew faster than we expected, and we were forced to prioritize our immediate needs. The length of time of our response doesn't in any way reflect on your submission - only on how overwhelmed we were.

We've decided that your novel submission "Bags N Pockets" isn't right for us. Thank you for sharing it. We wish you good luck in placing it with another publisher.

A pretty nice rejection, all in all. So... on to other things and other publishers.

I have, and though many of them are fairly respectable, it's a lot of work for some folks. The copy on demand people generally require the author to do all the foot work for sales and advertizing. Now, there are some that offer services to get the book on to shelves, but it usually costs a bunch to do it.
I'm too lazy to work that hard.

Oh, you can bet on that, Chris. "Seven Miles to Normal" may be one of those things I'm writing next year. In fact, I'm kinda working on the story line right now, along with the one for November.
