It does seem to me, on occasion, that were I to stop existing, then parts of the world would be unable to do anything. This isn't ego. This is just sad.
Each of us is here for a reason; part of our 'job' is to find out what that reason is.
I am lately come to a realization that my raison d'ĂȘtre is to be a catalyst - I cause things around me to change, hopefully for the better (in the long run). Not at all certain if I enjoy being such (especially in situations like the present one), but I am trying to learn to accept that role, at least in part.
This comment interests me FAR more than you'd ever have guessed when you posted it, lady. Cuz this is what *i* do, as well. I wonder what would have happened had we been in the same vicinity. It's possible we would not have gotten along well, both of holding the same job, as it were. *L* Of course, how we do it, and which changes we instigate will be different, and that might have been our salvation, eh?
I'd like to think so, anyway. ((( hug )))
(True, instigator and catalyst are not precisely the same thing, but many times, i've functioned in either capacity, and i suspect so have you. Interesting to speculate on, since ... heh.... we will likely never know.
You know that's why Chet calls me "Fitz" sometimes don't you? Character in Robin Hobb's Farseer books.. Fitz is the catalyst...well for everything! So I don't think it's a bad thing for all us catalyst type people to band together.. sometimes it takes a lot of energy to get things moving in the right direction.. at least we hope it will be the right direction. Cuz we really don't have any control over it.. it just happens!!
