I'm just not feeling... right. I think it's the barometric pressure. Sinuses are a bit grumpy and I've got a bit of muscle tightness that usually indicates that there are problems afoot in the world I don't know about. That's a given. There's tonnes of problems I don't know about. I'm still blaming the weather, though.

I took a drive to Centennial Park, a nice little Tulsa Park project. I've been wanting to go there, just to see what it looks like. The park turned out to be very, very nice. A couple of waterfalls, a nice gentle babbling brook running through the center of it. Some grassy fields that some Celtic band might feel a desire to perform on... stuff like that. It was very natural looking, and comfy. On March 28th the community center in the park is going to present a live performance of some old radio programs. I think I'll go see it. Heck, it's a 5 dollar entry fee. Where else can you see a live performance for 5 bucks.

I put on Pockets costume today. The Pocket pants, from Mom Pockets, the Pockets cloak, from Darlin' capi. I wanted to see how they looked. No, I won't take pictures in the apartment. It's just too... well, it's small and cramped and NOT photogenic. Not a background for such a cool costume. I'll go take a picture in a natural setting tomorrow, I think. So you who contributed can see it as it should be seen.

I also ordered boots for Bags and me. Yes, I know, I know... it might all be a mistake and I should have spent the 3+ hundred dollars on real boots... but you know? Bags and I don't do faires on a continuous basis, so maybe they'll be okay. We'll see, won't we?

I've been watching the TV show 'Lie to me'. It's a TV fantasy based upon the actual science of Micro-expressions, something that has always interested me. Tim Roth stars in it, and the science is good. The stories are pretty mundane, though, just like everything else on television. I watched all four episodes in one sitting, because I can.

I also think, and it's a big step for this hermit in me, that I'll accept a Royal Invitation to help out at the Soup Kitchen during OKRF. I'm still tossing it through my brain, which keeps trying to convince me of how hermity I am, but I think I'll over rule it. It might be a lot of fun.

Susi, you realize that is just one step closer to me being Dr. Dee, don't you? I'm thinking that once I get the right boots or shoes, then all I need is the sort of costume that you have in your head. Oh, that and being able to attend Academy. Next year I'll have the days off to be able to do that. Not days that I have to finagle, but real days off. Friday and Saturday.

I'm still feeling tense, like the other shoe, Universally speaking, has not quite dropped yet. It'll pass, I'm sure. Just wish it would pass quickly.

I don't think the shoe will drop very quickly, sadly. Right at this moment in time, it's something like the world holding its breath as it watches the stock markets...

If that were all that was causing it, I would probably flip it off and move on. But there is something else there...not certain whether it is good or bad, or possibly chaotic neutral. Most likely the last, I suspect.

We will watch and wait together.

It's making me very, very... uncomfortable. I don' like it. I don' like it even a little bit.

*hee* Yes, I do need to take a look at that Park...wish we could just whisk the rest of the band down here to play for them. Perhaps if we don't travel next week, we'll go there too.

And yes, Mom Pockets asked me about the idea before she asked you. I'm not plotting, really I'm not. I think you'll love being at the Soup Kitchen; simply wonderful folk. And yes, I agree that it is a step closer to playing Dr. Dee. *grin* I still have the fabric and the picture of the costume in my head. No hurry, dear; it'll happen when it's spozed to happen

I'm glad you and she talked about it first. I was wondering 'bout the addition of Pockets to the Soup Kitchen when I haven't even given Dee a proper intro. Well, cept that time you caught me off guard at Whitehart.

It's a very pretty little park, Susi! Course, when the weather is a bit better it'll be even prettier.

The name that I gave you... K.T. Goode? She's the person in charge of that center's activities, and she studied dance, I think she told me, with one of the ladies who set up a few Irish Dance schools here in Oklahoma and Tennessee - Kristin Butke Zagorski - who also toured with the Lord of the Dance troup. I still have K.T.'s card if you need the number.

Can you believe they teach their lessons from music off her IPOD?? I showed her the QG website. I think she's interested in talking. And unfortunately, they don't have any money, sadly. BUT, it might get the troup a bit more exposure...

*nods* We'll check into it. If things work out that we're here (but I still have hopes for a gig) then it might be a really good idea for Bruce and I to head down there and talk with her.

Thanks for putting in 2cents for us.

Are you kidding? I brag about you guys wherever I see any sort of sign of Irish! She's also related, by marriage, to the Goode of the Salem Witch trials. It's a strange world. It's also amazing how much I found out about her in such a short time. She pretty much invited me to come talk to the director of the radio play they're doing the 28th, because maybe I'd want to come work for them.

I think I'm starting to understand why I don't leave my cave....

*chuckle* Well, it DOES involve you in other peoples' lives...which isn't necessarily a bad thing, ya know.

You can always choose the level of involvement you want but those of us who love you highly approve of your coming out of your cave. *nods*

i love this post.

Not because you're not feeling just right; i don't love that part, no. But... you talk. You just let go and say it! *smile* I love when you do that.

One favor? Take someone else along when you put on your fair rig, to take pics? *Smile* Have *them* do the pics, so all you have to do is BE the picture. *L* I know you won't like that much.... but try to just enjoy the sunshine and the freedom... and who knows? You might find some fun in there!

I know WE will all enjoy the results!

Very Chesterian! Those should work very well indeed!! In sooth, those are very near the color i was thinking for Pocket's vest! Hrmmmmm.... *grin* Naw... i dast not try a vest without your person nearby. Someone close to hand will have to do that part. But that is what you need! We'd call it a jerkin, at faire, of course, but... *L* For Pockets? We know....

Dancing, dancing, dancing! This is gonna be fun, trust me! And hey, if you want to try out Dr. Dee before you get the full costume, Susi, how about my purple surcoat and matching flat cap like the wizard one I use?

The interesting thing about being Dr. Dee, Pam, is that I don't actually need a costume. The most famous story Susi and I have about me being the character is a Whitehart memory. I was walking back from watching the Dulcimer play (I can't just listen... I have to watch), when the Queen called out to me, saying "Good to see you Doctor!" or somesuch. Took me totally by surprise.

My personality switched immediately to a soft spoken older gent, who spoke with a quietly accent English. The Queen had called Dee into being. Apparently he was time traveling and decided he needed to be me for a while.

Oh, you are right! YOU don't need the costume; but the patrons do, to realize there is something here to see! Something that says, "This is a character to whom attention must be paid!"

Yes, you will! *hee* And Pam, it has to be black; Dr. Dee would never have worn purple, ever, not even at home. He was way too conscious of having Elizabeth as his patron and would never presume. He was a quite shy man who really felt quite awkward out in public.

It HAS to be raw silk and it's a scholar's robe and hat, with linen shirt and wool knee britches...it's all very clear in my head. Natural fibers for the esoteric work that he does. Plain and simple but well-made; he didn't have the money nor the tastes for finery but he dressed suitable so as not to stick out nor shame himself in front of his patron.
