The world, as we know it.

Hmm. Dow's down another 300 points. AIG seemed to have a bit of trouble with it's financials.
There MIGHT have been a missle from the US that hit Pakistan. Well... that's an oops.
A quarter of the US is still recovering from Hurricane Ike.
The political situation has folks spinning like tops. I almost said dreidel... silly me. (The dreidel, which I'm sure most of you know, is a top. But... did you know it is also used for divination?)
Oil prices are still high, even though the per barrel price has dropped below pre-February prices, and the wholesale price is below the 2.50 a gallon mark.
Food prices, though relatively stable, are still dependent on crops, so the Hurricane/Natural Disaster round has and will keep them a bit high.
And still Celebrity personalities are clamoring for attention, doing things that most of us would not even dream of doing out of shame and civility.
And there is still a war going on, though I think it's bout run it's course. Even the news is bored with it.
And the Artic Ice Cap has melted enough that the fabled Northwest passage is visible from space. Imagine!
A few illnesses that the public had thought gone forever have resurfaced. Smallpox is the highest rate that it has been in quite a while.
Aren't you tired of it yet?
Doesn't it all sound familiar?
Now, having said all that... the immortal's view:
Cycles, cycles burning bright,
Moving the world around in my sight.
It's been before, it'll be again,
Prepare for the ride, and smile, my frien'!
