See, I wanted to go down to the river about 6, but I was tweaking my XP. Of course, I'm missing a few things, like a decent Image editor, but that will fix itself. I still haven't added my text editor, but I'll get to it. I did get the Wonder Wash that my wonderful Sis in SAC sent. It's bigger than I expected, and it doesn't have a drain like I thought it did, but hey, these are little things. I use it tomorrow to wash up socks and such and see how it does.

Then 7 o'clock rolled around. I decided I better eat something, so I heated up a hamburger in the skillet. 30 seconds after that, the phone rang. I looked at the clock. 7:12. I wanted to be gone by 7:20, but I knew I wouldn't make it. I knew who was on the phone even before I answered it. Second call of the day, just to chat about nothing in particular.

I left at 7:40pm, and I will say, categorically that it was without the doubt the best attended non-picnic I've ever attended.

Bob was birdless, having set his charges free earlier. I could tell it was a bit of an emotional loss for him. Letting your children go the way they need is always traumatic.

Larry was riding a motorcycle when I first saw him. A very cool motorcycle. I decided that since it was my birthday yesterday, I would get some Icecream, and so I did. Larry was about 3 people ahead of me. Now, that man is an enigma... very quiet, but a very nice feel about him.

Charity showed up later, and she looked like she had the sort of day that most people who work for a living do... she was a bit worn, but still looked good.

Kim was there. Such a sweet face on that woman. I fell for her over two years ago, and it just won't quit. Good thing the world doesn't rotate that direction. She's got the pout thing down, let me tell you, and I would be sooo wrapped around her finger.

April, Chris, and the Squire were there. We, she and I, have decided that April is the Evil Baby of our Evil Power Twin set. I could have sworn that somewhere in the night she called me an asshole, but I'll be darned what I did to get that assignation, but I won't deny it. I think I agreed with it, in fact.

Of course, Tim and Sherry were there. And Susi and Becky were there! It's always good to see Becky. I don't know her half as well as I want to, but with Riley as her husband, she must be a good soul, though I can tell from her face that she's had her share of interesting adventures. Susi looked as lovely as always, maybe just a tad younger. It happens sometimes.

Christina, who has dissapeared into the wilds of Tennessee, and used to go by the name of mspolliard was there on one of her too infrequent trips here. She turned Tim onto another Festival involving large crowds, lots of noise, dust and heat. Like he needs another one. Sheesh.

Tim gave me a toy for my birthday! A little choo choo from the Wild Wild West collection! B & G know that I loves my toys!

I think I got everyone... There was a bunch of 'em, let me tell you. A right happy, motley group, too. Laughter and chat and we took up probably twenty-five hundred square feet all told, just from where we were sitting.

As we were leaving, Sherry got a text message from Christina that there was a fox in the parking lot! A FOX, I tell you! Well, there wasn't anything for it but for Tim and me to track the bugger down. Bad time for me to NOT have my camera, but Tim did, cuz he's just like that, and that's why I loves him. He flashed the little critter twice and I hope the pictures came out. A FOX! How very cool is that??

Anyway, it was a good, good night, even though my beginning was not quite as good as I would have liked. Wish you, and you know who you are, could have been there, because if you weren't there, then that's who I'm talking to.

*blushes*

Yes...she did call you an asshole, but in her defense, she smiled when she said it as she creatively enveloped it in a complimentary remark. HEHE

You may not have seen them, but later in the evening, Craig and Alicia snuck in the back.

It was an amazing group, I was so glad I went!

It's perfectly all right to call me an asshole, especially when it's done with thought and love. Heck, among us three, the BP&G group, Tim is the warrior, Sherry the grounding force, and I'm generally referred to as the 'bastard'. It's all good, dear. I'm so glad you went to, just so you could do that performance at the end.

Now if we could just convince my crows' feet that I'm younger, that would be good!

Thanks for placing Christina with her LJ name so I could figure that out. Nifty lady!

Bob had to set ALL his charges free? So he's only going to have Lady Val for this weekend and next? ::boggle:: I missed something somewhere, and not something good.

Lovely to see you and everybody, as always. And damn, I missed the fox; we parked the other way, I guess.

*hugs*

No, he still has Kohana the Harris' hawk, and Brenden the Kestrel with the funny tail. He released Chase. It was time for Chase to go back anyway. He tried to get away twice last Sunday.

Susi, why in the world would you want to be younger? There is no need for that. You are in a wonderful place right where you IS!

This is me, right here, right now, lovin' on you. SCREW crows feet! *stomp*

Uh.... sorry. I get carried away. See, i was pretty once. That time is now gone. And i'm trying not to care. I *earned* my old face, my grey hairs, and i try to claim them, embrace them, as Purple Hearts. It's hard some days, cuz we like being pretty, eh?

But life isn't about pretty. Life is about love. And that, we still have plenty of.

Whoa. i think i just ranted. *blush* Pardon me! *runs and hides*

That's ok, honey....it's being in entertainment that causes this. The perception that only youth is beautiful. I fight that, believe me.

I'm not doing badly at all for 53 and I'm not unhappy with anything but this extra weight that I'm carrying around. It causes me lack of energy and some difficulties in knees and hips.

But believe me, this is a minor quibble....

*lol* Everybody has a right to rant; goodness knows, I did yesterday!

So ok.... i have now met you, in person. Up close and personal. I have SEEN you wearing the weight.

You wear it beautifully. I can see from the variety of pictures that you've shared (for which i am SOOOOOOOO thankful!!) what you look like at a variety of weights, how lovely you are in all shapes and sizes.

Susi, you are gorgeous at *any* weight. You just are. I think it's because you have such an amazing personality. That may sound like a total cop-out, but your body and your personality do not come separately! You always carry them together! And you... you are.... *frowns looking for words* ...it's very hard to summarize Susi, y'know? You are *sparkle*. You are *radiance*. People don't even SEE the weight that you worry about, your personality is THAT potent.

I'm theatre, i saw. I'm not flattering here. I'm telling you what i witnessed, k?

Meanwhile, woman, when's the last time you did your callanetics? *grin* Did you ever get that barr? ((( hug ))) I know you will feel better with the weight off, with toning and all that. We all do. But don't let it be a plague to you while you work on it. Deal?

(((((( hug ))))))) You, Susi, are magnificent. That aint no snow.

Time is the enemy here, in every regard. JRF wrung me out completely (decision is still out on next year's involvement) so no, I've not done Callanetics nor gotten a barre (has to be special ordered from a lumber yard and not inexpensive) but we will.

Yeah, this is just silliness and a wee bit of insecurity of a 53 year old whose hubby has a 24 year old girlfriend. That plus this tax thing is making me a tad twitchy right now.

I'll be fine and AM fine....it's all ok. I just need some breathing room and some time with my hubby and it'll all be good.

*hugs*

I've been on IRS hold now for 10 minutes....

Steeenking IRS, anyway. I don't know if you drink or not, but even if you don't, you might, today. *snort*

I'm not nagging you, darling, i'm just nagging you! *grin* I understand all these things, oh yes. I know you'll be fine, cuz you are Susi! And time is ever your enemy. You are WAY overdue for a clone, lass.... ((( HUG )))

I would bet that there is someone you know with a lathe that could turn down a good piece of hardwood to be your Barre. Then you just add the brass fittings for the wall connection, and there you have it. Probably cost half the price, maybe.

There are times I miss having a full shop... there are times I miss having half a shop or any shop at all. When it all falls down, I'll go back to blacksmithing and furniture making.

Hmmm... I think I see another character building.

Susi, in all honesty, you have nothing to be insecure about, truly. You have a good life, and good friends and wonderful mates. You know this. Sometimes affirmation is a needed thing.

Well, it's an unusually large diameter piece, larger than a closet pole but I forget exactly what.

*chuckle* You need a protracted chat with Br. William, me thinks, or the wood-crafter at WH, yes.

I'm truly not that insecure; just realistic what it takes to keep a 53 year old body in the kind of shape to DO the things I wanna do. It's the knees and the lower back that are feeling the extra weight.

And yes, go read the post I just made....affirmation indeed.

Then it would be a sturdy lance pole- about 5 feet in length and 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Made of some hardwood, like oak, then.

I found some online for about 55.00 minus shipping. They're made of ash, and you can order them varnished or unvarnished. Just cuz I'm sorta snoopy like that.

Capi, you are with me wherever I go, in my head and in my heart.
