I have a couple of pictures of Tim at the Castle. I figured they came out pretty good. Here's one with Tim, posing as Bags, having come back from the Darkling Forest.

The cloak he's wearing cost 150.00. Hmmmmmmmmmm. And it wasn't any thing fancy, capi! Sheeeesh. Just a khaki colored material.

Some of the clothing vendors are VERY proud of even the simpler stuff. Oh, and I still have your holoclaust cloak. It's in my truck.

She was also very proud of her cleavage. I'm just glad no cooties jumped on me or Tim. and it's a Death cloak, hon! The holocaust cloak is in the OTHER closet.

I'm just sayin... It wasn't anything very much at all, just a broad sheet of cloth with a stitch to make a hood and a hem. For 150.00? Not even hardly lined, if I remember. I got cloaks that are much better, much, MUCH better. Is 150 a normal price for not much at all?

Cloaks are pricey, yes. *shrug* $100-$150 is low-end at faires. I don't buy mine so i don't look. I *sell* mine, via someone else, so i don't pay much attention. Or else i give 'em to people i adore. *grin* Cuz, y'know, i just can't help it....

I have found that, as I get older, I am amazed at how much somethings cost, and how much people will pay. Being a cheap bastard, I weigh, immediately, if it's worth it to me to pay the price for whatever it is. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Taking a cue from Susi, if I start to think I'd regret NOT buying it, then I'll spend the money. If I can walk away and say "The money would be better used over here." then no sale to me. I guess I'm just not so much a participant as an observer. Costume stuff is expensive!

*nods* Tis. One reason i knew knew KNEW that you'd like getting cloaks from yir lil' sis was because i pretty much figgered you'd never EVER spend that sorta dough on yourself. Neither would i. *shrug* But for me to *make* it for you, to gift you with it.... 'nother story altogether! YAY! WIN!!

Costume stuff *is* expensive. It's not mass produced. It's "niche" stuff. Specialized. That's ok. It's special! We likes it!

Twern't cloaks you gifted me with, dear lil sis. It was love made visible and wearable. I'm thinking bout making some of this niche stuff. Leather is also very spensive, but I bet I let loose with some change down the road.

Leather is YUMMER.... but it's also very hot wearing. Of course, your weather is not the same as mine. Most of our faires here require the sort of fabrics that absolutely BREATHE, the sort of fabrics you can drench with water often during the day without fear. *whew*

Yes! YES!! I knew you would understand those cloaks! I bet you can even see the silver embroidery all over the blue/black one that i could not make but wanted to! *hee*

What I can see is the silver of your soul, running like threads through all the fabric.

L is for Leather, which means boots and stuff.

Well..... i know that one of the big name boot-makers that does faire has like a six year apprenticeship program. To me, that says "This boot-making, she is TRICKY!!", so i'm glad there is help for you! It sounds fascinating to me! (Which is why, if ya thinks about it, i know there's an apprenticeship program. *heh*)

Boots are indeed an adventure! Since most of them are crafted to the individual foot, and the type of leather that is used can be a bit daunting, as well as the stitchery (yep, I like the idea of hidden stitches), I can believe in the apprenticeship. Of course, I'm not your average joe, so i can be my own apprentice. Heck, it's only taken me three tries to make a decent loaf of bread by hand... Boots are at least as tough.

*grin* Indeed! You are most *certainly* NOT your average joe! You will make the most astonishing boots, and you will eat the most amazing bread! And so many other things!

Hey, what happened about the sword? Anything?

Hope you're doing Wondermaus! And if not, know that I'm thinking of you and holding you in my heart.

Cooties are something you don't have to address... even though yer a girl. You have been de-cootiefied. I should send you a certificate of de-cootification.
