Rescued a fair maiden, who paid for gas and lunch at Speedy Gonzalez' restaurant and cantina. Not a bad place, regular mexican feed, and the prices seem fairly reasonable. AND they have a patio!

Then we went to Tandy's leather emporium and the smells were wonderful! We looked at leather and tools and because I'm a cheap bastard, I didn't buy anything, but the ideas started a-flowing. Susi bought some roadkill hide and some grommets. I stood and admired her fashion sense. It was a short but somewhat satisfying adventure. and my, my, it was warm out.

The van was acting grumpy again, but started fairly quickly. That's a win. Almost ran out of gas on the way home because I just didn't want to stop, grumpy van and all. I didn't, though and got gas at the point where fumes meet cylinder. All is well. I'm home again and the folks upstairs are either fighting or moving or fighting about moving. I can only hope.

Thanks Susi! It was a good thing you did, getting me out of my cave, if only for a little bit.

You're most welcome, dear. It was very enjoyable, even though I did spend too much money. I gulped and looked at it as an investment in the new web business. Now to refine the design and cut into it...that's the scary part; cutting into a $90 hide!

That was one of the primary reasons I went. I was checking prices. I suspect they have very good prices, for what they are selling. Their quality looked good and the hides were well cured. The tools, though.. sheesh! 100.00 for a hammer? Not even strongly magnetic? I dunno. It was a good upholsterer's hammer, but not for 100.00 dollars. even at 66 percent off, that would still have been 34 dollars, which is pretty close to true.

Of course, I may be living in the 1960's, price wise.

And... thanks for letting me whine just a bit. Shows me where I'm obsessing unnecessarily.

*grin* You weren't really whining....just discussing. Such moments are always best shared with friends who won't judge and will be patient. Heck, how many times have you served the same function for me, and will again in the future, I have no doubt!

And... is that not what Dr. Dee is supposed to do? You are quite gracious, my Queen. We should do this again!

Hmmm... Now that you mention it. Still, it was kind of a neat place. Fairly clean, pleasant wait staff. The food was pretty ordinary for mexican, but then, I didn't try anything out of the ordinary.

At the River, I've had their Ruben Egg Rolls... kinda disappointing since the Ruben taste was not quite enough for me. I may try the full blown Ruben tomorrow.

Hope to see your pretty face there!

I hear it is a good place to eat.

I will try to get there. Turns out I have to pick up Richard too. *sigh*

Aw darlin' if you can't make it, you'll be missed, sure and true. Speedy isn't bad. Let me know, and we'll run out there some time or other. Course, you might get your beau to take you... just cuz it would look odd for me to escort a woman beholden to another.
