There are pictures of Women with Birds! At the Wenches last Wednesday, Charity and Teresa both lent their heads and hair as perches for the two kestrals that Bob brought.

Seeing these pictures reminded me of a summer day when mom was sitting on her couch, working her puzzle book. The window was open and a tiny little barn sparrow wandered in and landed in her hair. I have a picture of this somewhere but it came out so dark that you can barely see the bird. It stayed there in her hair for a bit and she talked to it. The soothing mom-talk apparently gave the bird enough courage to wander back to its life. And for the rest of us, we wound up with a cherished memory. :)
