Snow was coming down as if a goose down pillow had opened in the sky and giant children were jumping on the beds of Heaven and this was the result. Thick heavy flakes that poured down upon the heads and shoulders and cars and trees and buildings, covering them in that white blanket we hear so much about this time of year.

It covered the sins, the guilt, the shame, the pain, the stupidity. Snow doesn't care. It covered the lies, the loss, the broken hearts.

It creates the illusion of purity, the dimension of brand-newness and for many, that illusion and dimension is enough. It carries us through this cold, damp, season and re-opens our hearts and lets us look at the world through children's eyes, seeing the wonder and magic in the world and the importance of cherishing those we love.

Hearts open up this time of year, even if they be two sizes to small. Arms open wide and embrace that which, any other time of year may be crossed and closed. It is a marvelous time to most, a season unlike any other.

It's the snow that does it. Even in places without snow, it still exists. For a brief flicker of time in the universe, it wipes clean ill deeds and creates a river Lethe, a time of forgetfulness.

At least that's my hope for all of us. That for a time, we put away our pettiness, our anger, our pain, and recognise the potential of What Could Be, unblinded by the normal filters of every day life.

That would be good.

That would be sooo cool.

Tonight, at the stoke of midnight from my Frankenclock, I will sit in my chair and I will ride the currents of the universe, drifing on the spiritside of my strange and immortal life. I will be in touch each and every one of you that know me, friends or those that I have a difficult time with for one reason or another. All those folks in my life I will visit, and I will give a Christmas gift of my love and my heart. It's all I can do, and all I have to give.

I will see you all, tonight, at midnight.
