Day one... it continues
Mar. 16th, 2004 09:22 pmI spent most of today at work making an XP image. That's windows XP Pro. I mean in a lot of ways it's a true adventure. I'm back to doing tech work in areas I'm just barely able to know what I'm doing. Like dancing on a knife blade. The Pros: It's new, it different, and the business may just take off and I'll get disgustingly wealthy.. well.. better off. The Cons: Have any of you ever worked for a brand new company and wonder if it's actually as good as everyone thinks it's going to be? I mean.. the head hardware guys says to me "Well, at least it will hold till something better comes along".. yeah, that's what I heard about my LAST job. *Heavy sigh* I'll know in a couple of months, Stay Tuned.
Had dinner with a group called Eating Tulsa tonight. At at Rib Crib, which they engineered so that it would be close to home, bless their hearts. It was good seeing some of those folks again. It was a bit pricey.. 12 something or other for my part, which equals to more than I make an hour. Do I sound like I'm money oriented? Betcherass I am. Bein broke is no fun..try sleeping on a park bench when it's below 70 degrees outside and you'll see what I mean.
Tomorrow is my 20th Anniversary of marriage! Woo Hoo.. yes, it's a strange marriage, and as the journal rolls on, I'm sure I'll go into heavier details. Right now, if you don't know, it's nunya. If you do know, then you are a loved one, and blessed are ye. Give Linda a happy anniversary, and had I *NOT* been jobless, I'd be with her this weekend.. the Bastids.
Heard from the Eating Tulsa folks (From here on out, they are called ET) that at least one of the folks that I figured were evil and mean and responsible for me being fired was not evil and mean.. so my heart owes her an apology. AND I found out that someone that I shouldn't have trusted I did, and it's possible that he's just a turd in the punchbowl, so who needs him anyway? Jerk.. bastido, cretin. Hope his Fed ex job drops a plane on him.
Was invited out to Gypsies tonight, and almost went.. but instead stayed at home. Maybe if I hadn't had gone and blown so much at RibCrib.. I will go... someday real soon.. Promise.
Got an old friend in my mind and hoping that she's ok.
Damn, am I verbose or what?
Tomorrow, maybe I'll even write a new story, if I can come up with one.
