The joy of living alone, the joy of living in 603 square feet of space means that cleaning day is not a big chore. Floor swept, furniture cleaned up, dishes done, kitchen swept and mopped, bedroom straightend and re-arranged a bit. Yep. Took me 2 1/2 hours. Granted, it's not spotless, and there are somethings my monkism does want to touch up, but it's at the point where I no longer feel like I don't care. Woo hoo!

And... naw.. I won't post more lyrics. I'll whisper it instead : zoot suit riot... cherry poppin daddies :

Now, some lunch, and some walk, and some writing....

*sings* "Who's that whisperin' in the trees,
it's two sailors and they're on leave,
hats and chains and swingin' hands,
Who's your Daddy, yes I am!

...is that even how it goes??? ;-)

I moved into a 600something square foot place from a 964ish square foot apt in Louisville. I'm still *technically* moving into this apt though because of the consolidation factor. I wish that it'd take me that amount of time to clean and straighten this place up, but maybe I'm so clean groove that it takes me 2.5 hours to clean my bathroom alone (habit developed from living with David's molding dishes and super brown bathroom spots that I never figured out WHAT it was). My goal is that this weekend I'll also have a spotless, sorted living space... with a still mildewing wall.

I've been here for 10 years, which I guess is a remarkable time. Granted, it's not spotless, and granted, there are my own mildewed spots, and the bathroom wall had to be replaced once, and I really hate the thought of moving any of this stuff again.

But after 10 years, I've pretty much got the system down. Now, the first time I did a stem to stern cleaning, it took me most of three days. The first time is always the hardest.

Watch that mildew, dear. It can do nasty things to you.
