Yep.. I got some emails letting me know I had replies, but these were replies from 2 days ago, right before they did the update. I'm sure they'll get it figured out.
O.k, it's not just me then.. I knew I hadn't been getting my emails about comments.. til today anyway.. and I have been doing virus scans, spyware scans and defragging my system all morning tryin to figure out why my system was so slow.. guess it's not me!
So.. bless their heart.. what you are really saying, in defence of all IT people out there, is that they didn't plan well enough. Keep in mind.. the spindle notice was on Saturday. The shipment of spindles arrives today.
And.. ahem.. Spindles? As in tape storage, or Drive packs? Makes me scratch my head in wonder that they would use such an archaic term.. but hey, the world it full of wonder.
Still, c'mon.. doesn't take a slide rule to to the math.. current requests + 2% to 3% for increased request due to the outage. And it's NOT the LJ team at fault here, it's whomever has taken over the managing of the physical location of the hardware. And it's not really a fault.. it's a responsibility. On a move of this magnitude, yes, there will be issues. Generally you can assume 10 to 15% of the folk using the system will have some issue or another.
The upside is that they know what the issue is, and are working their little tails off to fix it, so it's a temporary PIA at worst.
