Non pub night!

Kline + Cyrano + loved ones = wondrous night of magic.

Thanks to Bruce and Susi for the time the shared with us. I was pleased and surprised that you were able to join us! Pity that the show ran so late. I didn't get home until midnight. The only thing you missed was the sniffles.

Bob and Charity were there and as always, it was a joy. Charity looked pretty darn good and she continues to be my favorite foil. Love ya, Charity!

Yes... it was a success, and, of course, reminded me why I love Cyrano so much. It's the sniffles.

Sounds like fun. Sorry I missed it.

There was one bit of swordplay that I wish you could have been there to talk about. I think it was very well done, for stage play. I caught one or two little missteps that told me it was choreographed, I think. I missed my Bags.

Which reminds me... is everyone allright at home?

Everybody's okay. It was just one of those nights, is all.

Surrrrrreeeee.. Boy, you sure don't tease well, you know that? It's practically impossible to insult me. Been many things, and all of them true. Lost a whole bunch, and all of that's true too.
Not to worry, dear one!

See you next time around!

Yeah, wish we could've stayed even though I know the ending.

Kevin Kline is brilliant!

*smoochies*

Knowing the ending of a story, contrary to popular belief, doesn't ruin the story. The joy is in getting to see how the characters GET there. Silly Amuricans... always wanting to know the bottom line. There's an awful lot of territory between the hairline and the bottomline.

And no, I'm not talking bout you... this is just a general comment. I know you like the journey.

Yep, and I DO want to see the ending. Such great casting ...well, except for Jennifer but that's a tough role. You're right, she was trying way too hard.

She actually got a little bit better towards the middle of act iv, when they're at the battle front. I think it was the one she rehearsed the most.

I was also thinking... You know, depending on the director, it could very well be that she was told to push it over the top. I believe that women during that period, especially french women, tended toward the histrionic end of the emotional spectrum. If Jennifer's director was pushing her to be that way, that melodramatic, then she achieved her goal.

Sometimes I forget it's not always the actor who makes the character. Plus, this is her very first Broadway appearance. That might put anyone off their mark.

True. And it could be really intimidating playing opposite Kline.

I was sniffling too! I like Susi's Kevin Kline movie marathon idea. I should have paid more attention to how long the movie was and started earlier. I still have it on DVR. We may have to make another night of it to finish it for everyone!
