I can't seem to find a way to have Justin pull Sid out without grabbing at least ONE hand... and since he doesn't know which arm is broken, how is he to grab the right one. The choice is to grab both or to grab none. To use the phrase 'it could be worse...' well, sis, I think it's the normal stance of anyone in a polliana state. Things are good because they can always be worse.
Justin is not insensitive, he is not inured to the pain of others. He is aware and very much in touch, but he's also practical. He's a complex character that is not an innocent in life. He has just chosen to be a pure person walking a rather tight moral and ethical compass.
