thanks for hanging out with me a little yesterday, Chet. I've been thinking about our discussion. I think another factor that should come into play when discussing ego and smartness (?) is contribution. I mean... we can all postulate and theorize 'til our heads spin, but if there's no practical application, then these taxonomies, these descriptions, these explanations we create in our heads and maybe put down on paper have very limited worth. Here lies the difference between latent and manifest smartness; displaced or not necessarily displaced ego.
