Home made bread

And this time, in the Oven rather than the Breadmaker. The breadmaker makes such odd loaves. Also, I'm re-reading my last book, for editing and then submission, but... I've got another sorta story in my head. A BP&G tale. I know that there's one that's not finished, but it may have to wait. The inspiration for the rest of the tale, or rather, the middle of the tale hasn't come yet.

The downside is every time I start to think I want to write, this stupid middle finger of mine grumbles and locks up on me. Stupid finger.

I think I'll write anyway.

Who wants bread? And.. I'm thinking roast beef with rice tonight for dinner and maybe a cake of some sort. Ah, the life of a domestic slave.

Yeah, the breadmaker makes a funny shape. *chuckle*

I want some!

Here's the deal with the bread. When I was attempting to make my dough, the bread maker walked off the shelf it was setting on. A little vibration and off it went, tumbling dough, flour, and all to the floor. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I was not a happy man. But rather than toss it all away, waste not, want not, you know, I scooped up up and tossed it back into the bread maker. I put it on a LARGER shelf and let it make my dough. Then I dropped it into my loaf pan for a final rise, tossed it into the oven and baked it.

For too long. The crust is pretty tough, but it came out just fine, all in all. Now that I've done it once, I know I can do it again, and next time, even better.

You can come have some, Sis! I miss your fuzzy head.

Oh, i'm so proud of you! Lookit what you did!! YAY!!

I miss you, too, lil' brother. *hee* Did you eat any of it? Did it taste wunnerful?

[identity profile] joegoda.livejournal.com 2008-06-04 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
I did. I made a sandwich of it and ate it. It has a rather bland taste. I'm thinking of adding perhaps a bit more sugar to the mix or perhaps a tad more milk powder.

((( hug )))

Ok, but you'll have to be patient with me. My heart is kinda wrung out and i'm absolutely exhausted from the inside out. *smile* Not particularly from yesterday. Just from the cumulative run-up. But the story will out.

((( hug ))) Feels like i haven't slept since he started school. *chuckle*

[identity profile] joegoda.livejournal.com 2008-06-04 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It's funny sis, but I didn't knowingly do anything. I do know that you are always in my head and my heart, if that counts for anything. I think you did it all yerself. ))))GUH!(((( *the sound of a hug really hard - also the spelling of hug backward*

p.s. at least you are your own domestic slave!

[identity profile] joegoda.livejournal.com 2008-06-04 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I know. But there are those times when I wish I could be the domestic slave to someone else bringing home the bacon.
