Today's adventure...
Nov. 5th, 2009 06:36 pmChris suggested a week ago that we go to the Hitching Post, this lil antique store at the end of Main Street Broken Arrow. I am in looooooooooove with this place. It's not just an antique store, but a used book store, a used vid game store, a used USED store, and a broken thing store! I got away with spending a whole five dollars in my pockets and bought a box of clocks! Broken clocks! How every cool is that?
Then we went to a couple more places... one being the Century House on Main. I struck up a conversation with the owner, a lady named Darlene Gerber, and offered my services to fix broken clocks and stuff. She asked me if I did electrical work, and I said... "Umm.. I'm kinda weak on solid state. What do you have?" She has a circa 1940 fan with that marvelous fabric insulated wiring that just sort of falls apart after time. When I get back, I'm going to check in with her to see if she can bring it to the store so I can work on it. I'll start cheap, but hey... this might be the beginning of a whole nuther side business. Antique repair!
