Those of us who hold a realistic (as opposed to pessimistic) point of view are all too often told to "keep it to ourselves" because we are 'depressing everyone else'. However, I think that the issue with the eternal-optimist/rose-colored-glasses folks is that they not only cannot see the bad/sad/horrible parts of the world, but they are part of the reason why the rest of us are wallowing in muck - because they cannot/will not see the real state of the world, so they won't get up and join us in trying to actually do something about it. I suspect they are also the ones who are most prone to major mood swings - when one's Happy Bunny world simply will not conform to fit one's own notions of 'rightness', it's a major catastrophe for them - they cannot cope with less than perfection (or at least what passes for perfection in their eyes).

Post or not, as suits yourself, but do not let the disney-esque people take over. Please. That is a fate worse than death. *shudder*
