Maybe ego, but *not* sad at all.

Each of us is here for a reason; part of our 'job' is to find out what that reason is.

I am lately come to a realization that my raison d'être is to be a catalyst - I cause things around me to change, hopefully for the better (in the long run). Not at all certain if I enjoy being such (especially in situations like the present one), but I am trying to learn to accept that role, at least in part.
