Waffles for Breakfast...
Oct. 8th, 2009 02:43 pmI had waffles this morning. I was only an hour later to Susi's. I say only as if it was only a bullet that killed JFK. I was late for a reasons I could make up, but the actual reason is I just didn't wake up on time. Those in attendance, which were Susi, Tim, and Amber of Bruce, paid my obvious lateness no heed. I wonder, am I late so often that it's just part of the "It's just Chester" lore, and pretty much expected? Well, if so, I should bloody well change that part of my history. Surprise folks by showing up on time for a while. Maybe even the rest of my life. No promises though.
The waffles, by the way, were wonderful, and I could have eaten enough to blow up and still craved more. I stopped after two, because there was bacon as well. Yeah. That's the reason.
After we left, Tim and I, going our separate ways - There is no crystal digging today! - I got this wild hair to take a look at downtown Coweta. Downtown Coweta can be described nicely as 'Under Construction', which it was under when I was last there, about six months ago. I dunno why I wanted to see it, I just did. It's a 'what's over that hill' sort of thing.
So, I just wandered my merry way around and found myself on the back roads of Oklahoma. Not a big deal, as long as I knew my North from my south and my east from my west.
I knew it was going to be a little longer trip than I expected when I crossed the Arkansas river. That meant that at the very least there was a 30 mile detour in my future, as there is no northern route back to highway 51 from highway 72 until you hit Memorial in Tulsa. I knew this because Tim and I took this road once when we were coming back from Muskogee. See... I just kinda wondered where this road led, and Tim listened to me. And he didn't kill me for it.
I lead a charmed life.
