I had honest to goodness Ginger beer. Mexican Ginger beer. It's not bad.

See, I like ginger, and I know some of the healative properties of it, so I was walking down the grocery isle and saw Ginger beer sitting on a shelf. I thought, "Hmmmmm.. Ginger Beer!" I'd heard about it before, just had never seen it or tried it, and being the sort to say "What is that? BlakaBlaka bread made from the horns of the Texas Horny toad?" Bring it on!", I had to try it.

The first taste was very hot, like pepper hot. Kinda non-gingery, until I remembered that ginger, without sugar, is kinda like that. So I took a second taste. Still kinda hot, but this time I tasted a definite Ginger taste to it.

This isn't for everyone, but it's interesting. And it's good for you! If you can find it, and want to try out something different, go for it!

I've tried it... because I'm also one of those folks in possession of adventurous taste buds. And I agree... its a bit "spicy" although not quite the right word. Very good for pregnant women to cure morning sickness. I've also "prescribed" ginger tea to pregnant friends with good results. But if you aren't a fan of real ginger its a bit overwhelming.

It's "spicy" in bite, I think. Also a bit bitter. Yeah.. it's got a bit bitter bite. I'm a fan of ginger, but I do have my limits. There's about 3/4 of a bottle sitting in my fridge, waiting for me.

I think you'd go 'Whooo!', thank me politely and give the bottle back to me. It's got the same sort of bite spicey hot peppers do.
